Getting to Wanapitei
Driving to Camp
From the town of Temagami, drive north on Highway 11 for 10km and turn left (west) onto the Red Squirrel Road**
Drive straight along the Red Squirrel Road, following the signs for Wanapitei, for approximately 26km and then stay left at the fork.
At Kilometre 28, turn left.
Drive 20m and turn left and park in the parking lot.
Walk the Jackpine Trail** for 1KM and check in at our office!
* The Red Squirrel Road is an active, gravel logging road. Please drive slowly, and with caution.
**The Jackpine Trail is a gentle dirt and gravel trail. It is often muddy and buggy, so wear proper footwear and insect repellent as appropriate. If you have a physical disability that makes walking difficult, please contact our camp office to discuss possible pick up by ATV.
By Air or Boat
Water Taxis can be arranged through Loon Lodge Resort and flights by float plane from the town of Temagami can be arranged through Lakeland Airways. Both drop off at our front dock or just down the beach. And, of course, you can always paddle your way to Sandy Inlet. Please let the office know if you plan to arrive by boat or plane, so we can ensure a staff is there to greet you on arrival!
Camper Buses
We offer bussing for our campers at the start and end of every two week session. Please visit our Transportation page for more information on dates and stops.
