Welcome to First Session!

Today marks the first full day of camp for 2014.  We are super excited to welcome all of our campers for the first session.  The bus arrived on time yesterday to an enthusiastic welcome.

Campers are doing their swim test today, happily it is perfect weather for it. They’ll be checking in with our doctor, meeting myself or JJ, paddling and doing several other fun activities with their group.

This day also marks the first day of trip for our Voyageur II (VII) campers.  Both groups will depart Yellowknife today on their respective shuttles ready for 52 incredible days.  Their trips will end in Kugluktuk, where the Coppermine River meets the Coronation Gulf.  We wish them the best on this once in a  lifetime experience.

Here in Temagami our first trips of the summer will depart on Tuesday July 1st, a pretty great way to celebrate Canada Day.  The Bay Trippers will paddle the Kesagami River which enters Hannah Bay (the Southern end of James Bay) and will spend a couple of days padding the Bay to Moosonee.  This trip is 23 days in length.   Our two-week Pioneer group will paddle from camp to the Temagami River, they are on trip for 9 days.  Finally on Tuesday our two-week Coureur de Bois will travel the beautiful Temagami area for 8 days, starting and finishing here at camp.

We’ll keep you posted on all of our trips as the summer progresses.
