Bay Trippers
The Bay Trip program (for 16 year olds) includes a three-week canoe trip on one of the many magnificent rivers that flow into James Bay. This adventure caters to experienced paddlers. Wanapitei prides itself on safety, in-depth instruction and a heightened awareness of the land we travel through. These trips offer challenges as a result of the skills needed and the length of the trip, which promote both self-reliance and a strong sense of community making it a powerful overall experience. Other highlights include challenging white-water, extraordinary scenery, wildlife, and exploration of the tidal zone of James Bay. Participants will visit the historic community of Moose Factory and return from Moosonee to camp by train.
