Bay Trip

Paddle a remote whitewater river to James Bay.

Our Bay Trip program takes campers on a 24 day canoe trip that ends with a spectacular paddle across Hannah Bay, the southernmost end of James Bay. This trip features challenging and continuous whitewater sections, extraordinary scenery, and more than a few portages! Campers will refine their paddling abilities and responsible for several camp craft skills, including trying their hand at campfire cooking.

After the whitewater section of the trip is over, the group will traverse 60km from the mouth of the river to the community of Moosonee. The bay paddle is a unique feature of the trip, and often a highlight of the program. Once in Moosonee, the group will have the opportunity to visit the Moose Cree Cultural Centre in the community of Moose Factory and spend some time in the community before taking the train back to camp. 

Previous whitewater and canoe tripping experience is required. Campers must be strong swimmers capable of self rescue and aggressive swimming. Please contact the camp office for more details.
