Camp Wanapitei's programs focus on the development of individuals in a team setting.  Children and teens are challenged in a supportive environment both at camp and on trip.  In-camp activities include wilderness camping skills, swimming, games, initiative tasks, arts and crafts, kayaking, hiking, archery, a low ropes course and, of course, canoeing skills.  We offer a number of challenging levels for campers to work towards, including the canoeing standards of ORCA.

Our programs highlight the discovery of personal strengths and friendships through exploring new places and meeting new challenges.  At this pivotal time in a young person's life our programs offer an opportunity to build self-confidence and self-reliance as well as a deeper respect for others.

Our safe wilderness canoe trips provide opportunities to improve self-esteem by setting and achieving goals, overcoming personal fears, and feeling the satisfaction of group and individual accomplishment, all in an outdoor setting.  Campers are grouped together by age with the length and difficulty of their canoe trips being specifically tailored to the maturity and skill level of each group.
